An Agent of Change!
Ray White sales principal Craig Kerr has seen a few changing markets in 15 years as a local agent, and says it has given him a great bird’s eye view of where Sunraysia is positioned for the future.
Basically he says, “it’s bright!”
Craig says that real estate markets have changed since he started his career in 1999, “and so has Sunraysia.”
But he believes anyone in business, whether it be real estate services, farming, retail or community services, has to adapt to these changes.
“When you can adapt and thrive as a result, it can be the most rewarding experience ever,” he says.
And he speaks from experience. Craig’s sales career is peppered with achievement awards. Most notably, he was recognised with the Alan White Premier Member award in 2009, 2010 and 2013, and this year could see him elevated to ‘Elite’ status, which would be an outstanding achievement given that the Ray White Group consists of around 15,000 sales personnel!
Craig says that being involved with the opening of the Ray White franchise in November, 2004 was an exciting time, adding to the Ray White success story dating back more than 100 years.
“The original Ray White began as a family-based business in a humble tin shed in Crows Nest,Queensland, in 1902,” he said.
“It is still a family run company, with Alan’s grandson Brian White as chairman. With more than 1000 offices, the Ray White Group is now the largest real estate group inAustralasia. “They have continued to set the pace with technology and marketing, with the Mildura office setting the bar high very early on.
“We were the first agents for a number of years to feature full page ads for our sale properties, and we still do that on a regular basis.
“I remember other agents at the time saying we must have been funded by our corporate office, but that certainly wasn’t the case.”
Recent years has seen the Ray White Mildura rent roll grow to around 450 properties. Craig is proud of that achievement, and puts it down to Ray White providing the very best service, with excellent staff.
“The value of a good rental department can’t be underestimated, and Louise, Simone and Shelbie put customer service above everything else,” Craig says.
“It is testament to our culture – and to Simone Riordan – who today celebrates 10 years with us as an employee – and we hope it’s another 10!”
Craig says a thriving business doesn’t come without challenges. Events such as the Global Financial Crisis in 2008 made businesses across the world sit up, make changes and adapt.
“We were in the same boat,” he said. “We made changes, we did adapt, and to come through that period successfully as a relatively young business was a great achievement, and one that could only have been accomplished with the support of great staff, and guidance from trusted sources.
“We became even more customer centric, and this still allows us to stand apart from our competitors today,” Craig said. “Recent evidence was a 10/10 score card that Ray White Mildura received on a Customer Satisfaction survey – not once – but twice in one month!”
“Now for the next 10 years – and beyond.”

CRAIG Kerr is one of 13 children born, raised and educated in Sunraysia (Craig’s wife Louise is one of 11 kids).
Craig and Louise’s passion for the Mildura region and its lifestyle was a key factor in the decision to raise their three children here.
It was also a deciding factor for Craig when he joined Ray White. With his extensive knowledge of prestige property, Craig is well known in the industry as an expert facilitator of marketing all property types, with a proven record of successful marketing campaigns.
